Hawzah News Agency (Beirut, Lebanon) - The second meeting of International Union of Resistance Scholars was recently held in Beirut, Lebanon, with a large group of attendees from 80 countries. Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mofid Husseini Kouhsari head of Iranian Islamic Seminary's Office for International Relations and director of Hawzah News who was among the conference guests wrote down his thoughts and opinions regarding various aspects of the event. Below is a summary of his note:
1. Recent victories of the resistance front in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen have breathed a new spirit into the Islamic Ummah, and the scholars present at this conference were all quite inspired by this atmosphere.
2. Palestine has a unique capacity to be the pivot of unity in the Islamic world. Moreover, many freedom seekers and anti-tyranny people from other religions can get together to defend the noble Quds. Experience shows that neglecting this capacity would make it difficult or even impossible for Palestinian Muslims to use the help of many international institutions and media to defend their rights.
3. Various dimensions of recent victories and their effects, benefits and harms require serious analysis.
4. There is a clear shortcoming in strategic studies, planning, and foresighting in the field of international affairs including the future of the Islamic resistance movement.
5. The conference repeatedly highlighted the role of education in propagation and consolidation of the culture of resistance and the danger of distancing the educational systems and texts from the resistance symbols and teachings. The fact is that the young generation in many parts of the Muslim world is forgetting the Palestinian cause.
6. It was emphasized at the conference that fighting Zionism and pursuing the Palestine case should not be consider as fighting the religion of Judaism, and spreading the culture of resistance should not weaken interfaith relations.
7. Takfirism is a part of the political and social system of Zionism and the Western Arrogance, and today, more than ever, it is obvious that Wahhabis are helping the interests of Zionists.
8. Resistance is a multi-dimensional concept with various functionalities, and the defective and narrow-minded definition of it can deprive the resistance front of a vast range of potentials.
9. The central role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in inspiring and leading the resistance front is widely known, especially by those active in the field.
10. Defining the spectrum of enemies and real friends of the resistance, beyond the religious relationships, is necessary.
12. The epistemic and intellectual dimensions of recent victories and their developments have been less studied.
13. The recent victories have created a wave of despair and sense of defeat in the triangle of Israel, USA, and Saudi Arabia.
14. The pathology of media and cultural performance alongside military and political victories and adopting strategic decisions are important priorities.
15. Everyone stressed on employing the special potentials of the youth.
16. The quantitative and qualitative participation and ethnic and political diversity of the conference participants had a significant increase this year.
17. The media coverage of this year's conference was much more successful than similar programs, and the presence of media teams from various media outlets was quite effective.
